Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART)

ART techniques attempt to select sperm with best functional capacity to produce a pregnancy and subsequently, a healthy offspring. Variety of approaches is now being evaluated. Future approaches also allow for selection of the sperm based on sperm DNA integrity, and the degree of apoptosis. Other approaches also involve attempting to improve the in vitro function of sperm with the exposure to compounds such as pentoxifylline or platelet activating factor. In the future, we likely to see significant improvements in the ability to select the best sperm for assisted reproductive technology (ART) procedures and use of these procedures in routine clinical practice
  • Sperm DNA fragmentation
  • Sperm aneuploidy
  • Sperm selection
  • Semen processing
  • Motile sperm organelle morphology examination
